The Griot is the newsletter for the Sapelo Island Cultural and Revitalization Society Inc.

A “griot” (pronounced “gree-oh”) is a storyteller/historian — and much more. In many African cultures, griots embody their ethnic heritage and share its history through words, art, music and dance. We invite you to read through our current and previous issues available below.
